What makes a good opening.

After viewing a few openings of thrillers on http://openingsteaching2012.blogspot.com/Teaching Blog, I discovered many basics, in order to make a classic, or just simply necessary opening to a thriller movie.

1. Before anything, there is a production/distribution company showing.

2. Sound and music with credits to set up the mood and build the tension and suspense. This music is generally "creepy" or evokes a certain feeling in which to establish the feel of the movie. For example, the opening of the thriller "One Hour Photo".

3.The title. The title is the next thing to appear, and the text always accompanies the movie. Usually, this text is on a plain black background, to bring focus to it.

4. The next thing visible is some sort of important image or scene that establishes the movie, for example, in one hour photo, the first image after the title sequence is a camera, which is a crucial part of the movie

.
Through techniques such as these, our group hopes to successfully make a convincing opening to a  thriller movie.
