intertextuality is a term to used describe the visual references between films. after watching a sequence from form a popular thriller movie psyco i can easily establish that many movies have employed aspects from the one hit wonder movie pysco for example in the movie pysco cosist of a shower scene where a young women was in a shower then another man attacked with a knife. this was very significat as it was the first time that this has been done in a film. it was the turing piont of thriller movies. in the movie what lies beneath there was also a use of a shower scene which they copied from pysco when the women was in the bath she was having a shower and this mystery person opened the curtains and stabbed her a substantial amount of times to the body. a student from our school city and islington created a thriller and also used the exact same thing from pysco. only this time it was a boy was in the shower and a girl came into the bathroom and was pondering around without the boy noticing, she was exploring her surroundings, emphasing to the audience that she in not right she is mentally ill.
the use of mise en scene played a key part within all of these thriller movies, mise en scene is the expression used to describe the deisghn aspects of theatre production and film production, in this case all of these thrillers and used the knife and the bath a significant props to emphasis the horror and emotion.
