The appearance of the tittle sequence is based on the importance of the person , the company, in the production process and for the casting how famous the actor is. To concluded this I watched a couple of thriller openings where the production company always appears first as is the one who invest money in the film, becoming the most important part of the production, followed by the distribution company and some other producers, after this depending if the film has famous actors playing a role or not the tittle of the movie will appear but if the film has a famous name or a bunch of famous names those names will appear first to catch the audience with the famous faces.
After the tittle of the film the tittle sequence will continue with some crew credits. The conventional order is: cast, casting by, costume designer, music supervisor, music by, edited by or editor, production designer, in some tittle openings will appear director of photography, executive producers and directed by.
This order may varied if a famous person in a specific field has done some specific work for the movie for example if a famous writer has written the script or the screenplay his name will appear on the tittle sequence to catch the audience.
This tittle sequence is from "The Stepfather "
