Mise-en-scene

In our opening to our thriller film LUCID mise-en-scene will be a vital thing to get right as we need to set the scene properly. First of all the setting is in a house which from the outside looks like an ordinary home, however when we go inside we see the props that are used like the knives on the counter in the kitchen which show us that this man is not an ordinary man and shows us that he is a murderer. The other props we will use in our opening will be fake blood in order to show how violent he is and a retractable knife so that the man can murder the woman with out anyone coming to actual harm as using a fake knife could be a risk.
The costume will be the man wearing a shirt that is covered in blood which shows that he has just murdered someone, the white shirt will reflect his innocence in the situation as he is being control by the device, however the red of the blood connotes warning and fear which is also revenant as he becomes evil and blood thirsty when he is being control by the device. There image below is the type of idea I am thinking about as the man is wearing a white shirt with blood on it and carrying a knife which would be my ideal of what the murderer would look like.
There will interior and exterior settings, firstly inside the mans home in his kitchen and then the scene will move to the outside which will be the woman's garden as she is outside tending to her garden before she gets murdered. The woman will be wearing normal house hold clothes that she feels comfortable in which shows that she is unexpecting to what is going to happen to her. I have also thought that perhaps making her wear black might be a good idea because black represents death and fear which is relevant here as she is going to be murdered. Below there is a photo of a woman gardening and her coustume is my ideal for the woman in LUCID as she has black clothes which conotes death and also white which relfects how innocent she is.
